We are faced with many problems that are chipping away at the American Dream and making life harder for working people; rising rents, unaffordable healthcare, soaring education costs and a crumbling infrastructure just to name a few.
I am running to make sure that a child’s destiny is not determined by the zip code they are born in, but that they all have the opportunity to go as far as their hard work and dreams will take them.
I am running to make sure that this area remains vibrant with the schools, green space, libraries and community resources necessary to make this a great neighborhood where people want to raise their families.
I am running so that residents and small businesses are not priced out of their own neighborhood, while ensuring that employees can find living wage jobs so that people who work forty hours a week do not have to live below the poverty line.
I will be fighting for an MTA that actually works and a government that is responsive to our needs. We will no longer accept top-down governance from City Hall, and fight so that decisions that have a great impact on our community are made by the community.
I am fighting to protect our most vulnerable. So that no one goes hungry, the elderly can live with dignity, and to ensure that there is affordable healthcare for all.
I am from an immigrant family and was able to follow my dreams because of the opportunities that this great country and its people provided me.
I feel strongly about giving back to the community that gave me so much. I would be honored to be a public servant and make sure the American Dream is kept open to all.
